Peter, an anthropology professor, sees to it that his brother is released from a psychiatric hospital. He moves into a flat with him and wants to cure him of his suicidal tendencies. But the brother is haunted by dreams of a lost twin - and Peter increasingly takes on the characteristics of his sick pupil.
