“Uffahre,” “Züglete,” or “Öberefahre”: every region in Switzerland has its own name for a farmer’s greatest and most exciting venture every year – the cattle drive up to alpine pastures. The film’s director accompanies three families on the adventurous journey to their summer residence. The film portrays the various tests of stamina farmers are subjected to during the annual relocation of their herds – from preparation to the ascent – and provides insight into fascinating traditions.
