The former actress Sangwon is staying with a friend and reflecting on her professional future, while the writer Uiju receives a visit from a film student who is making a documentary about him. Both evade the existential questions posed by their interlocutors: she reflects on her recent career change, while he struggles with withdrawal from alcohol and tobacco. Hong Sang-soo weaves together two narrative strands that raise fundamental questions about art and life. The answers are like a haiku: simple, and precisely for that reason deeply moving.
