David (Nils Rovira-Muñoz) has locked himself in his room. He hasn't spoken to his mother Kristin (Katja Riemann) in two years, even though they live under the same roof. The once close bond between them has given way to an oppressive silence in which each exists for him or herself. Kristin despairs of the wall of silence that her son has erected. But while he loses himself in the digital world, she is left with only the daily grind in an apartment that no longer feels like a home. Determined to restore contact, Kristin searches for clues to David's thoughts. When she learns that he is active in an online forum for dragon-building, she makes a risky decision: she creates an online pseudonym and makes contact with him in his virtual retreat – without him realizing who is behind the new conversation partner.
